Public relations and social change? Lessons from Southeast Asia+

Much has been written about the dominance of corporate and US-centric perspectives in public relations scholarship. But if the current economic conditions were any gauge, the geopolitical center seems to have moved from West to East, and the stability of previously powerful global corporations has been questioned. What are the possibilities of growing public relations scholarship from non-Western perspectives? How can we build public relations scholarship from our engagement with Asia? Can a more community-centred approach to public relations be used for social change? Can Western-dominated public relations scholarship learn from the East?

Dr NattavudPimpa (School of Management) and Prof Brian Corbitt (Deputy PVC Business Research)

'The Unlucky Yingluck' and the future of Thai Politics
