Student profile – Yang Liu

Program: Master of Engineering (Management)

I chose RMIT because of its good reputation for converting knowledge into practice.

Studying the Master of Engineering (Management) is teaching me about the many facets of contemporary project management, and the impact new technologies are having on engineering and technology based organisations.

Our course is taught using real-world scenarios as case studies; these are then related back to the theory. Having lecturers who come from various corporations and backgrounds means they have a rich experience in solving engineering management related issues. This means we gain lots of practical knowledge and confidence before going into the workforce.

Risk Management and Feasibility has been my favourite subject so far. We were taught using real case studies from our lecturers working experience, which has made it easier to understand the theories and lecture notes.

After I graduate, I plan to travel around Victoria and participate in various enterprise internships. Hopefully these experiences will help my future work prospects. Eventually I would like to enter the workforce in an administrative role for an engineering and technology based organisation.
