New York Study Tour
The annual New York Study Tour provides students with an exciting alternative to traditional classroom based learning. Students visit a number of major museums, contemporary galleries, artist’s studios and experience talks delivered by art specialists working in New York.
The purpose of the tour is to experience cultural, historical and contemporary aspects of New York City. The itinerary will be covered during the weekdays - 10 days in total, leaving the weekend free. It will cover some of the major art museums, contemporary galleries and some sights. It is impossible to see all New York has to offer in two weeks. You will however experience a great deal, especially with the specialist knowledge of the city from your tour guide, both as an artist and having lived in NYC for ten years.
The tour is an actively experiential, integrated learning experience so that each participant can individually navigate and engage in a city as diverse and large as New York.
The tour coordinator is an expert facilitator and is available at all times during the tour for information and discussion regarding pertinent issues on your experience of New York City. ‘After hours’ during the 2 weeks in NYC the coordinator is available at all times for emergencies.
All participants in the tour must enrol for this as a course, whether through RMIT Training, a HECS payment or International Course Fee.
This course is open to RMIT students, Alumni, students from other universities and members of the public.
