Statute 5.4 – Academic progress

1. Except as may be otherwise provided by any Statute or Regulation, this Statute or any Regulation made hereunder will not apply to any student enrolled as a candidate for a higher degree by research.

2. There will be such examinations and other forms of assessment as published by the University.

3. The Council may make Regulations for or with respect to:

(a) the procedure for the conduct of any examination or other forms of assessment;

(b) the review of the academic progress of students;

(c) the conditions for the enrolment and re‐enrolment for courses or programs of any student whose academic progress is considered unsatisfactory;

(d) the exclusion of any student whose academic performance is considered unsatisfactory; and

(e) provision for any other matter or thing which it is necessary or expedient to prescribe or provide for the purposes of this Statute.

4. Regulations made pursuant to this Statute will come into effect when displayed on the university’s Statutes and Regulations Website.
