Building 9 – Cross-discipline Classrooms (9.2.15, 9.2.16, 9.2.17, 9.2.18, 9.3.9, 9.3.10, 9.3.11, 9.3.12)

Overview

These eight classrooms were designed to promote student-directed learning in combination with more traditional delivery methods.

Project tables facilitate collaborative work within a group, while network connections allow students to share their work with the class via laptop connection to large LCD screens.

A bank of laptops is also provided within each room for student use.

Key features

Seating

  • 30 seats per room, in groups of up to six around five project tables

Display

  • One large central screen at front of each classroom
  • LCD screens at each project table linked to main display and/or facilitating connection of student laptop/mobile computers

Other technology

  • 16 laptop computers provided in each room for student use
  • Power-points and network points provided at all project tables
