Marketing and Business Development Unit

We provide marketing support for the College Strategic Plan including brand stewardship, reputation building, student recruitment, industry engagement and promoting the College's activities.
The Marketing and Business Development Unit (MBDU) is responsible for the leadership and management of all marketing and business development activities and resources across the College.
The Unit provides advisory services to various project groups and undertakes activities to support:

Aaron Smith, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Industry Engagement
Responsible for College of Business industry engagement incorporating work integrated learning, alumni relations, collaborative research, executive education, and marketing.
Cherida Longley, Senior Manager, Marketing and Business Development
Heads up the Marketing and Business Development Unit and works with stakeholders on the development of new areas of activity including new programs and commercial activities and leads strategic marketing planning for the College of Business and its Schools.
Natasha Emerson, Manager, Marketing
Manages production of publications (onshore and transnational); manages promotional and special events such as Open Day; advises on brand and corporate image; provides advice on the development of promotional material and merchandise; participates in community liaison activities; and coordinates international opportunities and public relations components of the RMIT Business web site.
Jane Tramby, Media and Communications Coordinator
Works closely with the Public Relations Coordinator to source, edit and publish media stories for the Schools and the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor; coordinates print advertising requests, staff media appearances and comments and internal communication; monitors competitor activities; coordinates community liaison activities and recruitment campaigns; coordinates postgraduate brochures; manages CRM databases and works with the Marketing Officer on photoshoots, merchandise and the Marketing team on major events.
Ainslie Goodall, Public Relations Coordinator
Sources, edits and publishes media stories for the College of Business; assists staff media appearances and expert comments; coordinates internal communication; plans and manages all advertising (non-staff recruitment); monitors competitor activities; coordinates student recruitment and community liaison activities and assists with general marketing activities including printed materials and events.
John Pastoriza-Piñol, Coordinator, Engagement and Events
Responsible for the management of external-facing events and industry engagement activities for the College of Business. Specific duties include advice and coordination of external (non-recruitment) events such as conferences, academic prizes, stakeholder relationships and the maintenance of associated databases and systems.
Lesley Gordon, Marketing Officer
Provides administrative, public relations, event coordination and marketing support to staff in the Marketing and Business Development Unit. Specific duties include management of the Business postgraduate information evenings, merchandise, coordinating student and staff photoshoots, participation in recruitment events and communications activities such as writing and editing for publications and the web and managing internal communications.
David Holinger, Technical Officer, Web Development
Is responsible for the day to day coordination, maintenance, and design of the RMIT Business corporate web site as an integrated part of the University web system. The Webmaster works with academic and administrative staff, and technical and marketing staff to ensure the College’s web presence is an effective communication and marketing tool for the diverse range of clients.
Anthony Debrincat, Web Support Officer
Assists the Technical Officer, Web Development with the day-to-day coordination, maintenance and design of the RMIT College of Business web site as an integrated part of the University web system.
