Key activities
Catherine is an ARC Early Career Researcher Fellow (2013-2016) working on a project that uncovers the evolving cultural and social identities of transient migrants (international students and professional guest workers) in Australia and Singapore through their consumption and engagement with the media (screen and digital). In addition, Catherine has written on identity, gender, ethnicity and race in Chinese cinemas as well as on the social roles and networks of international students in Australia. Catherine has also taught Asian Studies and Communication Studies in the School of Media and Communication.
