New Collectables on again
Finders Keepers IV by Sarah Edwards.
RMIT Union Arts is delighted to once again host the New Collectables art auction at First Site Gallery.
New Collectables provides an opportunity for the public to buy from a fantastic selection of student artworks and support emerging artists at RMIT University.
Over the years many local businesses and RMIT departments have brightened up their office spaces with artworks bought from New Collectables. To date more than $80,000 has been raised by the event.
RMIT Union Arts charges no fees to students and takes no commission on the sale of works. All purchases directly support the participating artists and, with reserve prices no greater than $250, it is possible to find some very affordable masterpieces, according to Cassandra Scott from RMIT Union Arts.
A wide range of collectable pieces will be for sale, including painting, photography, printmaking, and ceramics.
For those unable to attend on the night, First Site Gallery will be open for viewings and backroom sales before the event.
Auction: 5.30pm, Thursday, 9 December
Viewings and backroom sales: 11am - 5pm, Wednesday 8 and Thursday, 9 December
Venue: First Site Gallery, 344 Swanston Street, City
