RMIT turns kikki.K window ultra-chic
RMIT University's Visual Merchandising students have collaborated with Swedish design brand kikki.K to create a stylish and inspiring concept window display.
The concept window for kikki.K.
The brief required students to design, create and install a visual window display that represented the kikki.K brand, encompassing the Swedish design principles of form and function.
Kylie Evans, teacher, Visual Merchandising in the School of Design TAFE, said the students incorporated the principles of sustainable practice in the design.
"The students made use of natural products including wood and paper developing a forest theme, highlighted by cool white tones to showcase the kikki.K products," she said.
"The brief challenged and pushed the students to create and deliver a gorgeous innovative attention-grabbing window display, showcasing the essence of the kikki.K brand and its products."
Kristina Karlsson, kikki.K founder and creative director, said the kikki.K visual merchandising team was very impressed with the final display and the students should be proud of the work they put into the window.
"The design has a very creative, calm and relaxing forest feel. The RMIT students have brought the kikki.K brand to life in the window with a unique and inspiring design aesthetic, and we look forward to working with them on future projects," she said.
The collaboration was such a great success that kikki.K has agreed to participate with second-year Visual Merchandising students as part of the RMIT mentor program.
The program sees students partner with an experienced designer and incorporates 80 hours of industry-based work experience with kikki.K and its visual merchandising team.
Check out another amazing kikki K collaboration and speak to the Visual Merchandising team at RMIT's Open Day on Sunday, 12 August, from 10am to 4pm at RMIT's Building 94, Cardigan Street, Melbourne CBD.
