About the session
This session is aimed at supervisors who have limited experience as HDR thesis examiners and are seeking insight into how to undertake this important peer review role. It will address some do’s and don’ts as well as identify what experienced examiners look for in a good HDR thesis. The discussion will also touch on what supervisors can do to assist candidates to prepare for examination and what to look for and avoid when selecting examiners.
This session was part of the Supervisors’ Colloquium Program and was open to all current and perspective Higher Degree by Research Supervisors. For further information on the program contact Dr Robyn Barnacle, Senior Research Fellow, School of Graduate Research.
