Seminar: Looking at Values – Some Recent Research
Personal values are developed during childhood and are thought to be relatively stable in adults. They are crucial to the way people approach the world, whether as employees, consumers or members of society.
In recent years Schwartz’s values model has been increasingly seen as an appropriate way to measure people’s values, even being used in the most recent EU pan-national survey. However, there are some interesting issues about the way Schwartz’s values are measured, which led to the research that will be discussed in the presentation. A number of issues will be raided that are relevant to management and marketing managers, but would also be of interest to anybody who is interested in measuring people’s values.
