The School of Art operates gallery spaces and rotating public art projects at RMIT University City Campus. These projects support the School’s active research community and provide a venue for national and international exhibitions and publication projects.
The RMIT Austral-Asian Archive of Contemporary Practice—RMIT-3ACP—is an online archive focussed on contemporary art practice of the Asia-Pacific Region. The Archive features singular works in order to profile outstanding pracitioners and challenging works and to promote regional knowledge exchange. Artists are also invited to respond to a series of questions regarding the work and their practice.
RMIT Art students and alumni regularly represent RMIT in prestigious exhibitions nationally and internationally and are consistently awarded for their ideas and creativity. Recent alumni have won the Archibald, Wynne, Dobell, and Cicely and Colin Rigg prizes.

RMIT University’s Art and Design graduates hold up to 50 events throughout Melbourne from November to December each year. As a dual sector university RMIT has a multitude of art and design programs at TAFE, Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. The exhibitions showcase the creativity and energy of our students before they graduate. Be sure to check these pages in October for the schedule of graduate exhibitions.
